London Drink Debate - Community Consultation

We started the London Drink Debate with a community consultation on the 7th and 8th of December. We had some really interesting sessions and heard some really interesting views from those attending. Some of the key themes that emerged were:
  • Alcohol having a negative impact, but also there being positives for communities
  • Concerns about there being a 'timebomb' of health harms yet to emerge
  • The impact of excessive drinking at home - on health, children, and domestic relations
  • Increases in drinking by older people
  • How easy it is to buy alcohol - especially cheap alcohol
  • The role communities need to take in tackling the issue of alcohol related harm.

Soon a report on the consultations will be up on this website and we will be looking for more comment on the issues raised - it's time for you to have your say...
